30 years of experience makes one more than a seasoned professional, and you can see that in Ravi Kula Chandran. As Ramco’s Chief Financial Officer, he takes care of the Global Finance function (including Secretarial and Legal).
On completing his C.A. in 1985, Ravi started his career with Murgappa Morganite Ceramic Fibres Ltd., and thereafter honed his skills at companies like Wipro Ltd., S&S Power Switchgears Ltd. and General Signal (India) Pvt. Ltd. He joined Ramco in 2002, as Finance Manager, reporting to the then CFO.
His 13+ years’ track record in the company has been stellar. He has always been a valuable support to the top management in key business decision-making process, and has made significant contributions to the company in terms of helping raise funds through Rights Issues in 2003, 2005, 2014, and QIP in 2015; setting up overseas subsidiaries/ branches in South Africa, Dubai, Sudan, Canada, Australia and Hong Kong; and restructuring of capital / hiving off division. He facilitates in concluding major customer contracts.
On the personal front, Ravi is a very reliable person who always believes that, “Everything is for good!” He is one of those rare people who enjoy listening to lectures, and had he not come into his current profession, he might have become a teacher. That apart, he loves cricket and chess, and relaxes by listening to Carnatic music and old Tamil movie songs!
